What I found most interesting about your story was how it's about a guy who lost his job and is constantly trying to get a new one, but is keep on getting rejected. Yet, it's all about not taking people for granted. To me, that's a bit confusing, as I don't understand what you were trying to do with that. Also, I don't get if the underground paradise was what he wanted, or what he needed to learn the moral of the story.
