i think the characters features fit in to the description. maybe theres could be like a break through moment in his life. it makes me wonder if it effects his daily life

I really like your art style but some questions you could ask yourself to expand your story is.... is there any other conflict other than his struggles with himself? How will he overcome the self esteem and other problems he has? Will he eventually be able to make friends that help him through the story and also help with his struggles?

I think a lot of people can feel for this character, especially because their design is so likeable! Arlo looks like a little bean :0! I love the way you drew the hair, eyes, and clothes. Clothes are so hard!.This makes me wonder, if he has just a few friends, are they big people in his life? Do they encourage him to get motivated? Do they help Arlo through hard times? Or are they not super nice "friends"? Does something crazy happen to Arlo? Or is it a more realistic story?
